That is one of the words that best describes this season of the trip. My teammate Angela wrote this blog and it says pretty perfectly what it's been like here!
Hello from Thailand! It only took 4 very long plane rides and one 12 hour bus ride to finally arrive in Chiang Mai. We are so exhausted from both travel and jetlag. Yesterday was our first day here at the Abba House compound. After about 3 hours of sleep, we were plopped right into the swing of things.
There is a YWAM team here until the end of next week. It is a little difficult becasue we dont know what our place here is, we dont even have a place for our stuff in the crowded girls room. That being said, I am so thankful for them. It has been awesome to get some fellowship with other Americans, but it is also nice because right now they are heading the ministries. We have 1 week to observe and plan and adjust. It feels like a huge gift (especially because of our jetlag!). They leave next Friday and then we officially move in and get to work.
Our plan for this week (other than starting lesson plans and such for all the classes we will teach) is to do some serious intercesory prayer for this place, this city, this nation. We want to take advantage of this loose schedule and dig into the word, and also eachother. Please be praying for us as we do our best to battle spiritually for this place while our new friends from YWAM finish up their week of teaching and ministry.
I am so excited about this place. I cant wait to share more about these kids, their stories, our bible/music/english classes, and what God is doing and will do here. I really cant wait.
This is my new team, team Jubilee after going to the Chiang Mai market; Cody, Me, Bekah, Rachel, Angela, and our leader Travis.
