One of the many, many things I have taken away from this training camp is the power of my voice. The power of speaking. The power of singing. The power of declarations. In all, how much weight my voice can hold by speaking life into people.
Those of you who have never read Ezekiel 37 seriously need to. It is so quickly becoming my favorite chapter in the bible! For the sake of this blog, I'll give you a quick recap:
The Lord takes Ezekiel into a graveyard of sorts that is essentially filled with bones everywhere. He proceeds to ask Ezekiel, "Son of man, can these bones becoming living people again?" Ezekiel then says, "Lord, only you know the answer to that" (Haha..a most excellent responce). The Lord then askes him to speak life into the bones. To prophecy truth over them, to declare life in them when there is clearly none. As Ezekiel begins to do this, the bones begin to rattle and shake and form together a being. They are instantly filled with life and then become a giant army!
This isn't the only time in the bible where we see life being found when there is none. After all, how did the Earth get set in motion? It was spoken. God did not think it into life, nor motion it into life, but He spoke it into life.
"we speak things that aren't as though they are." -Romans 4:17
There is so much power in that. My voice was created to bless the Lord first, and then through that, to bless others. My voice has power to bring the Kingdom into this world. It has power to bring life into a valley of dry bones, to bring healing to the sick, to bring freedom to those chained, to speak life to the dead, to declare truth in those filled with darkness. Through my voice, my Father is going to change the world.
…no big deal.
On a side note, this is the wonderful Real Life: Immersion team on Squad Wars night at training camp.
